This is a story that would be "funny" if it hadn't resulted in the death of 19 (and counting) bald eagles. Apparently, a fish processor in Alaska left the top off the bed of a truck carrying fish waste from their factory, and a swarm of eagles descended on the bounty. Unfortunately, many of them became caught in it and died there. In an attempt to save the others, the company dumped the contents of the truck, and pulled the remaining birds from the muck. The photo, which would be the "funny" part, shows the rescued bald eagles - dazed and confused - on their way to the vets. That's a ragged bunch of eagles. Moral of the story: "There is no such thing as a free lunch."

...Talk About Leadership!!!

Just when you think you've seen it all. This morning I went to White House site to see what they were saying about the Bhutto assassination. Could it be that U.S. coddling of Musharraf could have had something to do with the political war zone that Pakistan has become. Maybe. Could that have something to do with Bhutto's death. Maybe. For my own entertainment, I like to read the spin the White House puts on things, only to see how imaginative their spin doctors could be. And what did I find? First of all, the usual anti-terrorist rhetoric ("It's the terrorists fault.") but more importantly, posted prominently on the home page of the White House site, was this enlightening video that I just felt the need to share. In times when vision and leadership are needed, you can always count on the Bush crowd for some kind of idiocy. Sorry about the sarcasm, but what else can you do?
