I work as an independent communications specialist bringing the power of clear thinking and writing to the sometimes verbally challenged fields of finance, investing and economics. My clients range from MIT economists, CEO's trying to summarize their management philosophies, and companies trying to present new investment opportunities to investors.

1998-2003. Consultant to Marakon Associates. Worked with firm partner group to raise its public profile by publishing core ideas behind value-based management in leading management publications. Value-based management focuses on measuring and managing the value creation process within companies, focusing especially on the concept of intrinsic value, and how to maximize it.

1996-1998. Harvard Business Review. Financial Editor. Worked with academics and consultants to develop and publish their ideas explaining new ideas in the field of modern finance.

1992-1995. Babson Capital. Investment Management. Analyst in three economic sectors: banking, pharmaceuticals, and media. Provided buy and sell recommendations to Babson portfolio managers (mutuals fund, institutional accounts, private accounts) based on primary research. Managed high net worth portfolios.

Fidelity Investments. Private Equity. Worked with principal investor group within Fidelity investments to review and provide operating advice to portfolio companies, which were concentrated in the publishing industry.
